Lunch Trance – 2024-05-08 – Newsflash

There is another long weekend coming up here in good old Germany, because next week it’s Pentecost and that means this Thursday is Ascension Day, and I took Friday off so I’m gonna do four days’ worth of fuck all.

But before I can get started on that I had to feed you hungry lot, and even though I only added eleven new tracks this week (usually it’s between 15 and 20), there has been an almost disproportional amount of bangers in it, like:

  • Gareth Emergy, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Sarah De Warren: “Carry On”
  • Nilsix (aka Ørjan Nilsen and Mark Sixma) with “Gone”
  • Richard Durand, “Feels Good”

And then of course there’s still the Favourite of the Week™, and that is the RAM remix of “7 Colours” by Lost Witness:

But there’s more to hear! Don’t believe me? Check yourself (before you check the mix):

The next show will be on Wednesday, May 15, at 19:00 CEST/UTC+2.

New May, who dis?

Still me! 🥳

It’s been Labour Day here in Germany today so everyone had a day off work and oh boy, I really had to remind myself about once per hour that I still need to do a show tonight… 😄

I managed to not forget, though, and all the preparation was finished in time. What I didn’t account for was the weather: first day with 25 °C, and apparently my encoding machine doesn’t like that. Not. One. Bit.

Of course OBS wouldn’t show that; frame rendering time was a measly 2.2 seconds, the number of dropped frames was a consistent 0, and still, the shader did very much not play at 60 fps. Fuck you, OBS! 😡

So, yeah, I have to find a solution to keep the machine a bit cooler than today. I’m really surprised that it’s actually a problem because I have that machine since April last year, so it already spent a whole summer right where it is now, and I can’t remember it being this bad last year. Can you? Anyway, I have to fix that.

What you have to fix is your lack of knowledge of all the great tracks that I played. The best way to do that is to hit that Play button on the nifty Mixcloud widget below, or by downloading the show from the link below. And you may also want to give a real good listen to the Favourite of the Week™: the C-Systems remix of “Am I On Your Mind” by Oxygen and Andrea Britton!

And this is the place where you can listen to the show again:

The next show will be on Wednesday, May 8, at 19:00 CEST/UTC+2.

Last show of the first trimester of 2024! Time to make your plans for 2025!

Or maybe don’t, I don’t know, I’m not your mom! You do you, and I love you.

Even though Gabriel & Dresden had a track in my show this week, The Favourite of the Week™ for this week goes to the Alessandra Roncone remix of “Drifting Away” by Lange and Skye. Beautiful track!

This track and all the other tracks have all been locked into your computer (by me!), and if you want to let them out and enter your ear, you have to press the button below:

The next show will be on Wednesday, May 1, at 19:00 CEST/UTC+2.

We’re finally completely back to the regular program, one show per week, as The Cat™ wills it.

The Favourite of the Week™ for this week is Jordan Suckley’s “Warp Speed,” remixed by Liam Wilson and The Technicians.

The recording is available in the usual place. (“Right here” is the usual place.)

The next show will be on Wednesday, April 24, at 19:00 CEST/UTC+2.

Day 3 and last day of the post-Revision catch up marathon! We are now back up to speed with the calender! However, that also means that for the next show you actually have to wait another week again… 😄

So, you now have a bit of time to really get to know all the tracks I played in the last three days, and you should take special note of this week’s Favourite of the Week™: “Destination” by DT8, remixed by Super8 & Tab.

And you also have a bit of time to listen to this show (and the last two shows) until we meet again. I definitely recommend that you do!

The next show will be on Wednesday, April 17, at 19:00 CEST/UTC+2. Yes, that’s a whole week from now, you spoiled brat! (Also, last reminder about summer time!)

Day 2 of the post-Revision catch up marathon! These tracks should have originally been broadcasted last week but I was way too destroyed after the party and the journey home.

I am, however, on the mend, which is good, because tomorrow there’s going to be another show that will bring us back up to speed.

I also finished setting up all the stuff that I tore down for Revision, i.e. my microphone… just in case I would get another raid (like yesterday’s raid by Ruben de Ronde) but today was all quiet. And it even stay quiet after I finished my set because my planned raid into lug00ber’s Tea & Bass session failed due to technical issues on lug00ber’s side! 😢

Oh well, at least Ruben had a track that I could declare Favourite of the Week™: Cubicore’s Remix of “Lose Yourself” by Ruben and That Girl! 😄

So Mixcloud, very listen, such button!

The next show will — again — be tomorrow! Wednesday, April 10, at 19:00 CEST/UTC+2. (Casual reminder about summer time.)

So, yes, I did not play a show during the Revision build up. And I did not play a show the week after Revision because I was actually down with the Revision Flu™ (which I am still feeling even though I’m almost back on my feet again). Which means that this week’s Wednesday would have marked three weeks since the last show. And as I have no idea how to handle such a large gap I decided to catch up: one show today, one show tomorrow, and back to the regular programming on Wednesday!

As I had packed a couple of crucial parts of my setup for Revision, I needed to look for all of them in all the boxes that I packed, and at some point I ran out of time (because I was playing “Outer Worlds” 🤣) so I decided to skip on the microphone.

Turns out, that was a bad choice… because today (of all days!) I got a raid from none other than Ruben de Ronde which pushed my maximum viewer count to the staggering height of 62 viewers — which is the most I have had in quite some time. Thank you, Ruben! 💖

The Favourite of the Week™ was delivered by a couple of well-known names this week: “Deceiver” by Allen Watts & RAM.

You can listen to the set again at your earliest convenience:

The next show will be tomorrow! That’s right: Tuesday, April 9, at 19:00 CEST/UTC+2. Also, again the reminder that I am on summer time now so if you’re not, remember to adjust your alarm clocks accordingly.

No internet trouble! 🥳

It’s amazing how sometimes it’s the small things you’re happy about. 😀

I think today may have been the show with the highest number of new tracks: 22! There was almost no space for tracks from last week! 😁

Among those twenty-two new tracks there were a couple of gems, such as:

  • Amos & Riot Night and Ren Faye, “Different View”
  • Sam Laxton’s Magikal Remix of “Not Too Late” by Sarah de Warren and Somna
  • “Poison” by Reinier Zonneveld and Zeltak
  • Aly & Fila and Ferry Tayle, “Concorde” remixed by Cris Grey

The Favourite of the Week™ must definitely be this track, though: “Not Anymore” by Leon Bolier.

As usual, you shouldn’t really pay attention to which tracks I like or don’t like, just listen to the whole thing and decide for yourself:

The next show will be on Wednesday, April 3, at 19:00 CEST/UTC+2. That’s right, we’re once again switching to summer time so if you’re not switching to summer time between today’s show and the next show, I will be starting one hour earlier!

Most of the show went fine but near the end I seem to have had a bit of trouble with my internet connection…

I didn’t even get a reply by anybody. So rude!

At the end I wanted to raid mayor but I don’t think that worked, either… anyway, I am very happy that I don’t rely on anything in the internet for the recording of the show. 😀

However, as I found out after I had already started the upload to Mixcloud, my playlist generation tool does need internet… I had to manually add two tracks that I played while the internet was down, like some kind of pleb. Disgraceful.

So, bunch of new tracks today, what did we have? The ones that stood out for me were:

  • The Equinøx remix of “7 instead of 8” by Rank 1
  • Greg Downey’s “Invaders”
  • “Sparks in the Night” by Elysian

And the Favourite of the Week™ this week is “Eris” by Hassan Jewel and Transient!

Even if you were present from start to finish today, due to the internet outage you will have missed something, so you damn well better make sure to catch up on everything. Right here. Button. Do it.

The next show will be on Wednesday, March 20, at 19:00 CET/UTC+1.

Lunch Trance – 2024-03-06 – Newsflash

I have noticed in the past that I somehow dig the tracks I play in the beginning of the show way more than the tracks I play later in the show. Am I in fact more of a progressive trance fan than a vocal/uplifting/melodic trance fan?! Not sure. I’ll have to keep an eye on that…

Anyway, today was a notable exception! I found myself really digging tracks in the beginning, in the middle, and in the end of the set. Here is an excerpt of the tracks I really liked:

  • “Memoria Eterna” by Aether, the new project of Andrew Rayel
  • “Elixir” by Drival and Steve Dekay
  • “Pacific Tide” by P.O.S.
  • Will Rees’s remix of Sneijder’s “In and Out of My Life”
  • “Blueberry” by Probspot, remixed by Markus Schulz

Now, the Favourite of the Week™ has a bit of a story behind it… Spotify told me about this track, and I immediately set out to locate it but it wasn’t in the Trance charts!

My confusion was palpable.

Turns out, it apparently took a wrong turn and entered the Bass House charts! So, I guess we’re doing Bass House now! 😂

Anyway, here is the Favourite of the Week™: “Blood Pressure” by Andrew Bayer!

This track and the other track can be listened to by clicking the button. Click the button! CLICK IT!

The next show will be on Wednesday, March 13, at 19:00 CET/UTC+1.
